Take my bones take my flesh burn it all down to ash Make my ash a little home bury it beneath the loam So I can feel the melting snow so I will know when winter goes So I can feed the flowers roots so I can grow flowers for you

A Parable 03:32
When I hate I make walls I build walls When I war I forge binding chains binding chains Ashes to ashes dust to dust we're only dust it's what we leave behind us When I'm untrue my fruits whither and die they rot and die When I give up I dig my grave I dig my grave When I love my love burns bright a beacon in the night

Do you like the way he looks at you do you see what's in his eyes do you like the things he says to you are you sure they're not all lies do you like the way he compliments you on your every move do you like it when he smiles at the big words you try to use do you think he thinks you're smart or just confused When he takes you out to parties does he always walk you home or does he leave you lying there embarrassed drunk and all alone do you really think he wants you for your heart of gold for your eyes and for your smile or for what's underneath your clothes don't tell me that you don't really know When your cheek is on the bathroom floor who'll be the one who's at your door Will you finally give him what you never would give me am I just not good enough is it for his body I would keep it safe and locked away for you my love he'll drag it round the town and trample it into the mud if you'd rather have that than my love take it and be gone When your cheek is on the bathroom floor who'll be the one who's at your door is that all I'm good for when your heart is on the bathroom floor who'll be the one who's at your door?

This Ain't Your Home (free) 04:07
Johnny has gone to dive for missing Atlantis don't you come back Johnny don't you come Johnny has gone to dive for buried Atlantis don't you come back Johnny this ain't your home but Atlantis it cannot be raised to the surface don't you come back Johnny don't you come for to live in Atlantis you must know your purpose don't you come back Johnny this ain't your home The world it is sick it is dying some say and one man can't heal it no matter what he pays for we'll take all his money and we'll take all his time and we'll blame him for having a mind Johnny has gone to find the fountain of youth don't you come back Johnny don't you come Johnny he'll bring back the fountain of youth don't you come back Johnny this ain't your home but the fountain it lies in a desolate eyrie don't you come back Johnny don't you come and when you carry it down all your vessels are empty don't you come back Johnny this ain't your home The world it is sick it is dying some say and one man can't save it no matter what he pays for we'll take all his money and we'll take all his time and we'll hate him for having a mind Johnny has gone and we don't know where don't you come back Johnny don't you come Johnny has vanished into thin air don't you come back Johnny this ain't your home We'll know the world's better we'll know the day I'm calling on you Johnny won't you come when Johnny walks in with a smile on his face won't you come back Johnny this ain't your home

She came to town in summer she came to town in a low cut dress she came to town looking for a lover she was the girl I loved the best She smelt of brandy and wild flowers her lustrous hair was black as coal we would lie atop the cliffs for hours her blue eyes they pierced my soul She said wait my love but I've seen enough of this old world to know she's thinking of not coming home As August rolled into September as the grain became so gold she locked herself up with a decanter she said she could not stand the cold Like the birds she flew southwards like a bird she's here and gone but I still see her yearning skywards although she left me all alone I wish I was in some dark hollow where the sun don't ever shine I would find myself a deep lake and bid farewell to Caroline

Light A Fire 04:41
The rain it came the rain it fell the factories all washed to hell the rain it came the rain it poured remain at home remain indoors The castle walls are crumbling down the castles all are crumbling now the prison gates are washed away don't be alarmed don't be afraid God is taking what he gave but you can keep what you made God is taking what you threw away but light a fire you'll be safe There are fires burning in the automobiles they'll keep us warm though they keep still what transportation there's nowhere to go remain indoors remain at home The king's bright robes have been washed away and you can see his fat and pockmarked frame but he'll lead us through our darkest days don't be alarmed don't be afraid A song rings out through the driving rain the song always remains the same it's the song of peoples' hard earned pain the song we'll never sing again For when the waters rise they cleanse gluttony and sloth and then when they recede they leave the clay don't be alarmed don't be afraid

Picturebook 01:00
When I was young I had a picturebook and it was filled with pictures of all the different animals and every time I read it I was scared Because somewhere in that picturebook there was a picture of an alligator and every time I turned a page I thought he'd bite off all my fingers so I never dared I guess that's how my life has gone since then I hesitate at every bend and I don't know when it's going to end So I'll keep singing these songs of mine and maybe everything will work out fine maybe you'll consent to be my friend

Winter is almost done my dear spring comes to those who wait winter has had its fun for the year love's never late She will find you when you're ready like the first falling of snow when you've gathered your wood and you've built a fire only then will it spark and you'll know You're a lily growing in the meadow dear spring comes to those who wait but if you're plucked too soon you won't bloom all year love's never late Your eyes are as deep as a mountain lake spring comes to those who wait but I could drown in them and still my thirst not slake love's never late I can taste you on my tongue now like the first falling of snow I will gather your wood and I will tend you fire for the rest of my life Just say so

I dress you up to drag you down and I doll you up to play around but I don't need no centerfold no perfect skin no perfect lips I just want your soul Shirtless you're worthless I've seen them before they all look they all taste the same when you're walking out the door so keep it on keep talking look me in the eye can't you hear what I'm saying Don't let me be lonely So get drunk if you want to go home with him do whatever he wants you to but don't you ever learn his name Because if you do if you let him spill his soul and rest his head on your bosom you'll leave me out in the cold

I was born to be a sailor I was born to plumb the earth born to search the farthest corner I was born to get there first I was born a century too late. The restaurant's closed now but you can have what's on my plate I was born to sail through space I was born to walk the moon I was born to die for something but it all ended too soon I was born a century too late meet me tomorrow we'll drink the same thing I don't want to be a doctor too much schooling I don't want to be a politician too much fooling there's nothing left that I can be at all that doesn't end in a room at the end of a hall I was born to be an explorer but there's nothing left to find the only uncharted waters flow inside my mind so I will get there how I can meet me tomorrow we'll try again

Colors 04:18
Last night I had the strangest dream I was on my back and I couldn't breath there was a foot pressing down on my throat and in the darkened room I could not see the face of my adversary but I could hear the accusation when he spoke He said You are one of more than three hundred million people their hearts are empty their minds are feeble but they've got an SUV and a big screen HDTV on the wall What makes you more than another pissed off teenager hating authority and prostrate to computers what makes you think you've got anything to offer at all Here's what I see see colors and they're not the ones you see because you're not the same as me nor ever shall be I see colors we're taught to call it red but to me it looks like blue does anything beyond what we perceive hold any truth Last night I had the dream again I was in a room with all of my friends and they were laughing as I strangled a man on the floor I looked down and to my horror it was like I was looking into a mirror I ran screaming from the room they said what'd you stop for I have seen them in their big houses our future presidents and supreme court justices but all their SAT prep courses don't teach them to sing They've lost their voices they've lost their vision and they try to make colors but they just end up making themselves so sick they can't see anything at all Not me I see colors and they're not the ones you see because you're not the same as me nor ever shall be I see colors and when you're telling me that I have nothing to see and that I have nothing to be and that I have nothing to give you're telling me that I have no reason to live you are wrong.

Let's go out tonight let's take a bus line down to the water let's go out tonight far away from the city's laughter feel the grains of sand between our toes Let's sing songs tonight let's sing songs and lets hold hands let's sing songs tonight we'll sing the song and make amends I promise you'll remember how it goes The water's going to rise and wash away everything so close your pretty eyes evening's coming down again and I know that you can't see past the bars but try to remember there are stars out there somewhere Feel the tidal pull feel it swirling round your ankles feel the tidal pull you know the world is thankless you've already been adrift upon her seas Hold my shaking hand entwine your fingers hold my shaking hand let's linger here a minute before the sweet release The water's going rise and wash away all we hold dear so close your pretty eyes the rushing wave is almost here and I know that you can't see past the steel but try to remember there are fields lush and green to be seen Feel my beating heart place your hands upon my chest feel my beating heart the rushing waters never rest not even at the closing of the day Take one last deep breath as the rushing waves wash over you take on last deep breath if it matters I loved you as we return to the clay The water's going rise and wash away the skyscrapers so open up your eyes the rushing wave is almost here and I know that you can't breath but please believe me the sun is rising on a new day and the morning is hours away
